AI Services & Third-Party Data Processing

DietTalk uses third-party artificial intelligence (AI) services to power several features. Your data is processed by these services as described below:

AI Service Provider: Google Gemini (accessed via OpenRouter API)

Features That Use AI

• Meal Photo Analysis — Food photos you upload are sent to AI to identify food items and estimate nutritional content (calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat)
• Text-Based Nutrition Estimation — Food descriptions you type are sent to AI for nutrition estimation
• Exercise Calorie Estimation — Exercise descriptions and your weight may be sent to AI to estimate calories burned
• Daily Health Suggestions — Your health profile (age, gender, weight, meal data, water intake, sleep, step count, stress levels, and activity data) is sent to AI to generate personalized daily suggestions
• Healthcare Provider Reports — If you join a hospital, aggregated health summaries may be processed by AI to generate draft reports that are reviewed by your healthcare provider before being shared with you

How We Protect Your Data

• All data is transmitted to AI services over encrypted (HTTPS) connections
• AI services process your data only to provide the requested analysis and do not retain your personal data after processing
• We do not sell your data to AI providers or any third party
• You provide explicit consent for AI data processing when you first use the app

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With healthcare providers you explicitly choose to connect with
• With service providers who assist in operating our app (e.g., cloud hosting)
